These three pictures show three different and distinct Goodyera species. Concentrating on the inside of the flower and showing the columns [anther caps and pollinia]. Far left Goodyera tesselata. Middle,  Goodyera repens. Right, Goodyera pubescens. Notice difference in the lips of each species, the G. repens has a longer more narrow lip than either G. tesselata or G. pubescens. Also notice the pinkish hue of the G. tesselata's inflorescence [flowers] that is absent from both G. repens and G. pubescens, this is something that I have observed in G. tesselata in both Pennsylvania and New Hampshire.

Picture
Goodyera pubescens and Malaxis unifolia growing together. Botanist here in Pennsylvania are noticing a connection [ as yet unknown, possible a fungus that both plants depend upon present in the soil ] between the two species often finding both growing together.
