Eastern Red-back Salamander [Plethodon cinereus] 1

Picture
This is the third Eastern Red-backed Salamander found in this area [the second lead phase] with a whitish back and tail.[Plethodon cinereus].Montour County,Pa.5-3-19
A really colorful Eastern Red-backed salamander [Plethodon cinereus].Montour County,Pa.4-24-19.I have read that "This is the most abundant vertebrate in the northeast forest by biomass. That means if you took all of the red-backed salamanders and put them on a scale, they would outweigh every other vertebrate in the northeast. That is a lot of salamanders!"
