This is a great time of year to find Loesel's Twayblade [Liparis loeselii] a hard plant to find when in bloom as it blends in to surrounding foliage with its green flowers. But this time of year those seed pods really stand out. Dauphin County, Pa. 8-12-25

I have seen Loeselii Twayblade Orchid [Liparis loeselii] many times in New England and they always appear small with only a few flowers. Yesterday I saw a great many with seed pods in Northeastern, Pa.. I counted as many as 14 pods on a single flower stalk! These appear to be much more robust plants and can't wait to see them in bloom in mid June. Now is a great to be out looking for orchids, by finding their seed pods, a little snow can help to make them stand even more. I-3-22
